Your Trusted Home Inspector

When you want to make sure your home it’s safe and sound, I’m here to help.

I’m Danny Pitts, and I’ve been a home inspector for 24 years. I founded Longhorn Inspections, Inc. in 2003 to help people learn more about their homes and to help them make better decisions about buying or selling their homes. As a licensed home inspector, I know all the ins and outs of your house—and I can help you understand what those ins and outs mean for the long-term health of your property.

As a homeowner, I know how important it is to trust that your home is safe and well-maintained. That’s why Longhorn Inspections will give you a thorough inspection of every inch of your property to ensure everything is up to code. Count on me to keep you informed throughout the inspection process so that you can ask questions and get answers from someone who knows the industry.

Over 4,820 Inspections Completed

I retired from the construction business in 1998 and shifted my focus to real estate inspections. I learned the business by working with Clue So’s Inspections, Inc., then founded Longhorn Inspections in 2003. For the past two decades, I have been inspecting houses and commercial buildings for individuals who consider their investment an important one and prefer someone with experience, a keen eye, and the diligence to provide them with a sound evaluation of their potential investment. I have conducted more than 4,820 inspections, including single-family homes, condos, commercial strip centers, restaurants, churches, offices, and specialty buildings.

Learn More About Me

I was born and raised in Fort Worth and moved to Austin in 1966 to attend college at the University of Texas. Then, I graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Psychology and attended graduate school at the University of the Americas near Puebla, Mexico. I moved back to Austin and went on to become a carpenter and contractor in the Austin area.

I spent 22 years as a general contractor and co-owned Pitts and Prince Construction Company, where I was in charge of all of the company’s construction sites. I worked on a variety of residential and commercial projects. Residential projects included constructing single-family homes, custom homes, home additions, and rehab of apartment buildings, the largest of which contained 60 units. Additionally, I have experience developing rural acreage for residential uses, including utility installation and road construction. Danny’s experience in commercial construction includes buildings up to 10,000 square feet, with uses including offices, warehouses, and restaurants.

Hobbies & Family

I live with my dog, Cody, in Lockhart, south of Austin. I enjoy going for walks with Cody and working in my vegetable garden. I have two kids, whom I love greatly, and I always look forward to spending time with them.
